Chapter 4

I don't know how I fell asleep, but when I woke up again, it was already 10:30 AM.

The zombies' howls outside had gotten a bit quieter. When I went downstairs after getting ready, Leo had already cooked breakfast and was waiting for me.

After eating, he told me that the surrounding zombies seemed to have received some kind of signal and all headed towards the East District. He took advantage of this lull to go to the supermarket and get some more supplies. He also reinforced the villa's walls a bit.

Hearing this, I immediately ran up to the second-floor balcony to see if Adrian was still at the door.

The villa gate was empty, with only bloodstains on the ground.

I felt an indescribable sense of loss.

I opened my phone to check the drone footage. The next second, my body froze, and my phone fell to the ground with a crisp sound.

In the video, Adrian was standing on top of an SUV. Countless zombies were kneeling at his feet. His eyes were filled with undisguised madness. At this moment, he was looking directly at the drone, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, but only revealing a murderous aura. The next second, the video went black as the drone was torn apart.

Adrian had undoubtedly become the Zombie King.

"Emily, what's wrong?" Leo's voice suddenly sounded in my ear.

I said flatly, "A Zombie King has appeared in the East District."

As soon as I finished speaking, he pulled out his phone to watch the latest drone footage. For some reason, when he saw Adrian's face clearly, he said, "How can it be him."

What connection does he have with Adrian?

"That's my boyfriend. Do you know him?" I probed.

Leo was visibly flustered and tried to cover it up: "No, I don't know him."

Something strange was definitely going on.
