Chapter 2

At 3 AM, my body was discovered.

The finder was a middle-aged foreign woman.

She seemed too hungry and couldn't help but come to the dumpster to find food.

I'm really sorry, there's no food here, and I scared her.

She collapsed on the filthy ground and screamed.

The dumpster lid was opened, the phone screen still lit.

The screen was frozen on the chat with Finn.

"You stole the car I reserved?"

"Why?"

"You knew about the earthquake beforehand, didn't you?"

"Finn, if you do this, I'll die."

There was a two-hour blank in between, the timeline of my dried tears.

In the last second before my heart stopped, I saw his reply.

"I'm home safe. Hope you're okay."

Seeing that cold message again still hurts.

Oh, that's right.

I don't have a heart anymore.

The middle-aged woman shakily got up and took my phone.

Then, she disappeared into the alley.

I felt a bit sad, but comforted myself.

If my phone could help her, that's not bad.

Only, Finn would never be able to contact me again.

I think, if he knew,

I wonder how happy he'd be.

I stared blankly at my own corpse in the dumpster.

If Finn doesn't come, no one will claim me.
