Chapter 4

Panic flashes across Caleb's face.

A look I've never seen on him before.

He looks like he wants to deny it.

But in the end,he nods.

Even though I suspected it,the confirmation still hollows me out.

I force the words out of my throat.

"So,she said you two are together.Is it true?"

"Of course not!"

Caleb grabs my hand,his grip tight and nervous.

"Where did you hear that?Sienna and I are just college classmates."

"If there is anything else...she came from a poor family.

I anonymously paid her college tuition back then."

Is this really all just Sienna's delusion?

But something still feels wrong.

"Caleb.Did you do all those exclusive ESPN interviews...just to see Sienna at work?"

He looks at me,helpless and a little wounded.

"Baby,you are overthinking this.

She's a sports reporter.We cross paths at the arena.

But there are so many teams in the league,so many reporters.

Why would I go exclusive with one network just for her?"

He gently pinches my nose.

I used to love when he did that.

Now my skin feels wrong.

"Are you just having pre-wedding anxiety?Don't let your mind run wild."
