Chapter 1

On the day of my wedding to Declan, he ran away with his childhood sweetheart, Sylvie, and left the country.

Before he left, he made a point to explain:

"Sylvie wants a baby. I don't trust any other man to do it, so her child can only be mine. But don't worry, we're doing IVF. Once Sylvie gets pregnant, I'll marry you. Don't be upset, okay?"

Three years later, Declan finally returned from abroad with Sylvie.

He found me, his tone matter-of-fact:

"The baby in Sylvie's belly is mine, after all. From now on, you two will share me as your husband. She's already gotten a marriage certificate with me, so to be fair, you'll get a wedding ceremony with me. That way neither of you loses out."

Sylvie immediately linked her arm through Declan's, her expression full of envy:

"Summer, Declan is so good to you. He specifically wants to hold a wedding for you, so you can be Mrs. Walsh in front of everyone and be recognized by all. What a blessing!"

Looking at how the two of them played off each other, I let out a cold laugh.

"You can keep that blessing for yourself."

After all, three years ago, I had already married Declan's older brother, Hudson.
