My husband, Damian, obsessed with filling our home with children, had built a private island. Not for us, but as a secret haven for scores of women, all meant to bear his heirs. One of them was even Skylar Hayes, my college roommate. She claimed she’d been on the island for five years. In that instant, my heart ripped to shreds.

Damian rushed to hold me, his eyes overflowing with feigned concern.

“I told you, anything you want, I’ll give it to you…”

Damian choked out a weak, “Okay.”
