True Health Report

My Husband Sent Valentine’s Roses to His Three Women—And We Ruined Him Together

Chapter 1

2,560 words

On Valentine's Day morning, I received flowers from my husband for the first time.

The florist handed me a huge bouquet of red roses with a smile.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Mrs. Walker."

Jack had never been the romantic type.

In the seven years we'd been married, he'd always dismissed Valentine's Day as a marketing scam. Couples who were serious about building a life together didn't waste money on empty gestures like that.

So for seven years, he'd never bought me flowers.

And yet here I was, holding an enormous, beautifully wrapped bouquet of Ecuadorian red roses.

There was a card tucked between the blooms.

I looked down.

The smile froze on my face.

[To Amy,

The love of my life.

Yours forever, Jack.]

My fingers clenched around the bouquet.

A thorn pierced my palm, but I didn't feel a thing.

Before I could even process it, the doorbell rang again—then someone started pounding on the door.

I opened the door.

A woman with flawless makeup and an expensive cashmere coat stood outside.

Her eyes went straight past me to the roses in my arms.

"So this is where they ended up." She let out a cold laugh. "Those are the flowers my boyfriend sent me."

I stared at her.

"Excuse me?"

She whipped out her phone and held up a screenshot of the order.

The name of the person who'd placed it was right there.

Jack Walker.

Underneath the delivery details was a note from the florist:

Valentine bouquet. Premium red roses. Handwritten card included.

She fixed me with a sharp look.

"Then I guess the flowers I got must've been meant for you."

She handed me the card from her bouquet.

But the name on it wasn't mine.

It was Emma.

"I'm not Emma," I said quietly.

She frowned.

"Then who are you?"

I ran my thumb over the wedding band on my finger.

"I'm Claire."

"Jack's wife."

The color drained from her face.

"You're his wife?"

Neither of us said a word.

Then my phone rang.

It was the flower shop.

The employee sounded frantic and kept apologizing.

"I'm so sorry, ma'am. We had so many Valentine's Day orders come through today, and there was a glitch with our delivery system. The flowers you received were actually meant for another customer—"

"I already know Jack ordered three bouquets and had them sent to three different women."

My voice was steady.

"I just need you to tell me where the third one went."

There was a brief pause on the other end.

Then she gave me an address.

It was an upscale home in the suburbs.

Amy looked at me.

"Claire. We've come this far already. We might as well find out who Emma is."
