On my wedding day, the groom was nowhere to be found.

My family and friends joined me in searching for him.

We found him in a hotel room, lying on pristine white sheets.

And beside him... a naked man.

Not long after, I jumped to my death, infected with HIV and pregnant. A double tragedy.

A pale yellow dress was laid out neatly by my bed, along with accessories, a purse, and even foundation and lipstick.

My mom's nagging from before she left for work echoed in my ears:

"He's from a good family, introduced by Mrs. Johnson. He's 24, so don't mess this up... Don't come home if it doesn't work out..."

My mom was still as elegant and forceful as ever.

But Mom, you said it well. Next time, don't say it at all.

Last time, it was this innocent look that made Lucas think I'd make a good wife, choosing me as his beard.
