Chapter 5

In my desperation, I caught sight of a wine bottle not far away, slowly rolling towards me due to the shaking table.

Seeing it as my lifeline, I grabbed the bottle and smashed it on the head of the man in front of me.

Once... twice...

In an instant, glass and blood were scattered everywhere.

The pungent liquid also splattered onto my face.

Vanessa immediately let out an ear-piercing scream.

The man I had hit felt the blood flowing from his forehead and fainted shortly after from shock.

The bottle was smashed, leaving only a sharp half. I held it, pointing it at the men who tried to rush towards me.

They all stopped in their tracks, no one daring to come closer.

Luke tried to come up and stop me:

"Lily, calm down. We were just playing around..."

Luke bet that I wouldn't hurt him and slowly approached me.

My hand couldn't stop shaking, tears had long been flowing uncontrollably.

Seeing Luke less than two meters away from me, my emotions became even more uncontrollable. I pressed the sharp end against my own neck.

Luke was too scared to come any closer:

"Lily! Are you crazy?!"

"I gave you your life! You have no right to decide your own death!"

Tears messily stuck to my hair strands, my vision starting to blur.

"It's just one life. I'm giving it back to you."
