Chapter 2

The tips of Adrian’s ears flushed faintly red.

I gave a light cough and sat on the bed, pretending to be calm.

“You sell yourself for money?” I asked.

He nodded.

The old me probably would have sneered, tossed him a check, told him to “take the money and get out,” and thought he was filthy.

But really, among these people, who was filthier than Conrad?

“Go take a shower.”

I glanced at the divorce agreement on the bedside table and spoke quietly.

For the past three years, I had turned a blind eye to Conrad’s absurd behavior.

Because I loved him, I retreated step by step, while he pushed further and further.

Now that we were both tired of this marriage…

It was time for it to end.

I picked up the pen and signed my name.

Adrian came out of the shower just then, his hair still damp.

The moment he saw me, the tips of his ears reddened visibly.

“I’m done showering…”

At the same time, my phone lit up.

A message from Conrad: 【Go to bed early.】

I almost laughed.

He had never sent me messages like that before. He had never cared about my daily life.

But today, he did.

Was it because I had kept Adrian?

Was it because he had finally realized that Cecilia, the woman who had always been loyal to him, might truly be changing?

I did not reply.

I untied the belt of Adrian’s robe, slipped my hand inside, and pressed my palm against his abs.

The lights went out, and we fell onto the bed kissing.
