Chapter 1

After I donated my corneas to my son who was about to go blind, he mixed up my identity with Lily Brooks, my husband's first love, due to memory confusion.

Devastating news struck, and I was in so much pain that I didn't want to wake up.

But while I was semi-conscious, I overheard a conversation between my son and husband.

"Dad, this way, Aunt Lily can stay with me forever!"

"Yes, that's my good boy! You acted so well!"

The doctor who performed my surgery couldn't bear to watch anymore.

"Young master's eyes were perfectly fine. You tricked your wife into donating her corneas to Miss Brooks. If she finds out, I'm afraid..."

"There's nothing to be afraid of. She loves me and Charlie so much. Besides, she's an orphan. Where could she go without us?"

"Lily has no one here, and she's about to go blind. I can't waste another minute!"

I lay in bed, tears of despair soaking my pillow.

They only cared about protecting Lily.

But they didn't know that because of the surgery, I was dying.
