The Color of Betrayal

The day before my brother’s wedding, I picked out a rose-pink dress.

Suddenly, my boyfriend Julian snapped at me.

“That’s Briar’s favorite color! You can’t wear that!”

I thought he was just warning me not to upstage my brother’s bride.

But then he said,

“Briar can’t marry the man she loves—it’s heartbreaking enough! And you still want to steal her dress?”

I stayed silent.

I didn’t ask why Julian knew so much about Briar.

Instead, I FaceTimed my brother Alex.

Alex was with Briar, trying on her wedding gown.

He wore a black groom's suit, his eyes full of joy.
