Six Secret Years, One Public Goodbye

I secretly dated my childhood best friend Ethan for six years. He never told anyone about us. When I broke my leg, he didn't come to the hospital. Instead he dumped me. "I've got plenty of girls better than you anyway. Who else are you gonna find without me?" A month later, his mom told mine he was about to be a father. I thought he got someone else pregnant. But that ultrasound was mine. I was carrying his baby when he publicly wore another girl's pin, when he watched me fall down the stairs to keep our secret. When he finally came crawling back, I showed him the abortion consent form.
